The Forwarding and Clearing Chamber incorporates stakeholders from the Forwarding and Clearing Industry; Ships Agents and Brokers; International Couriers; Importers and Exporters.

A Freight Forwarder organises the movement of goods on behalf of importers and exporters, or another company or person internationally by all modes of transport, the nature of the goods and the customer’s deliver requirements determining the most cost effective and economical method.

It may involve using the services of shipping lines, airlines and road and rail freight operators.  In some cases the Freight Forwarder provides the service itself.  Companies may vary in size from those operating on a national and international basis to those that are smaller and more specialised, concentrating on moving specific goods or within specific geographical areas.
